BAKER'S DOZEN CHALLENGE SPEED RECORD:
Fastest person to climb all 13 peaks is Michael Walsh of Cary North Carolina. Time: 35 hours, 59 minutes (July 2008).
WINTER 17ER SPEED RECORD: It started in 2007 with Nicole Macagna. Nicole braved the ice and snow to climb all 17 West Milford Winter Peaks in 74 days. Next came Mary Beth Grybowski in 2008. Mary Beth inspired us all by doing it in 60. This winter, the boys (old and young) woke up:
John Fitzsimmons (age 69!) blew the old record away: he was the first winter record-holder over the age of 40 and he did it in just over 9 days, completing all peaks between 12/22/09 and 12/31/09. But his stunning record was short-lived because right on his heels, Ed DiSalvo (age 55) completed all his peaks in just over 7 days.
THE NEW WINTER RECORD HAS BEEN CONFIRMED!! Dan Watts and Lenny DenHeyer SHATTERED ALL PAST RECORDS BY completing the Winter 17er Challenge in 2 days, 4 hours and 57 minutes. CONGRATULATIONS!!
